The terms on which these pages are read
This page sets out what The Daily Gram is, what its figures can and cannot do, and how it is paid. It is written for a reader deciding whether to rely on the rates published here.
The desk and its limits
The Daily Gram is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. Its subject is one measurement: the rate for one gram of 999 gold, before tax, as published by named associations and republished here with the date and the hour it was read.
Because the desk is not a broker, it cannot open an account, accept an order, or handle a payment. A reader who wants to act on a rate must go elsewhere. The figures on this site describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. Nothing here is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer.
What the figures are
Every figure on this site is a measurement of a published source. The source is named under each table, with a link, so a reader can check the figure at its publisher. The date and hour of reading are shown, because a rate is true only at the moment it is taken.
The figures are the association's own published rate for one gram of 999 gold, before tax. They do not include making charges, dealer margins, or any tax. A reader who compares a shop's counter price with these figures must allow for those additions. The site republishes what the source states; it does not add or subtract from it.
How the desk is paid
The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link. If a reader opens an account there, the site is paid a commission. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This relationship is stated plainly here and on the page about the publisher.
The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. Following the link leaves this site. The desk does not control what happens on the broker's site, and a reader who follows the link should read the broker's terms before acting.
Reader data and corrections
The site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics and stores nothing in the reader's browser. The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs; the site's publisher does not read a reader's personal data out of them.
Writing to the address on the contact page reaches the editor, Anjali Deshpande, Rate desk editor. Corrections are the reason the address exists: a figure that is wrong is corrected and the correction is dated. The editor is responsible for what the site states.
